Recent finds: Nail polish

(Bamboo shoot & Wet cement)
Sally Hansen's nail colors are very much raved in the industry and I can see why.

I got the Xtreme wear in 81 Bamboo shoot and 460 wet cement. I will have to say the wet cement is my fav because the color is very true after just 2 coats and is really long lasting (I soaked my nails in vinegar before application) and the magic is if you make a mistake it washes off in 1 shower 0.0
Now i think Bamboo shoot is a good manicure colour because its a clear pink, to get the true colour i applied about 3 layers.

My fav thing about these polishes is they have a metal ball inside which assists its shacking and also the brush head is flat so its really easy to apply.

Recent finds: Pressed powder

Warning: Review very scent based!

Almay Line Smoothing powder is the best out of the three (light). Its light weight and light coverage (kinda like MAC MSF natural). I feel that its a okay setting powder (cant really tell if it dose smooth lines), it dose not last very long and it has quite a bit of fall out.
Okay the Covergirl clean normal skin pressed powder (ivory) and Maxfactor creme puff powder (translucent) both smell horrible. I have a sensitive nose so i cant really say much about either products. Both smell like a really strong old granny's perfume (esp Max factor one).

For the mean time, stay beautiful!

Recent finds: Pen liquid Eyeliner

(Revlon liquid eye pen in blackest black, Covergirl line exact, K-pallet WP 1 day tattoo liner, Revlon liquid eye pen in Blackened brown)

I have been on a hunt for a good eyeliner for the last few weeks and I'm quite happy with my finds.

Revlon Color stay liquid eye pen in Blackest black its a really good eyeliner, best out of the bunch. Its last on my oily lids for a good 6 hrs (when primed, powered and set) and the black is really intense. Applicator is medium sized when think and think lines can be created.
The Blackened Brown one was a complete miss, I have to admit i purchase this thinking its the black. The brown is very light and you can barely see it on the eyes. I think it will be good for the brows though.
K-pallet Water proof 1 day tattoo eyeliner. Its a pretty good liner lasting a good 4 hrs when primer, powered and set. The applicator is very thin so its great for tight-lining between the lashes. The downside is, its not water proof... But i really want to try the normal one because i heard soo many good review on it.
Cover line exact liner in black is also really good. It once again dose not smudge or crease for 8hrs of wear when primed, powered, and set. Its applicator is medium large that offers good control and it has a shacking mechanism. The only thing is, i find this one the most difficult to remove even with WP remover. It comes off in little specs and even after cleanser I need to go back with a remover soaked Q-tip to remove residues.

Recent finds: Concealor & highlight Edition

(Garner roll-on in light, Revlon age defying concealer in 001 light, (YvesSaintLaurent Radiant touch 01 light beige, Maybelline Mineral power concealer ivory, Maybelline dream mousse concealer fair)

Lets start with my favs.

The Garnier Roll-on tinted eye-cream are perfect for those who don't huge dark circles. They blend really well, dont crease into fine lines and it doesn't slip or slide. Although I dont use it for a eye-cream but its perfect for concealing under the eyes. Its lasts the whole day without smudging/oxidizing.
YvesSaintLaurent Radiant Touch Highlighter its a truly greatly daily highlight. It has a pink undertone which brightens the skin when applied and its bendable and long lasting. This is more of a day highlight because the brightening effect is toned down, for night time Mac's Cream colour base in Luna or any shimmery beige shadows are great.

Revlon's Age Defying concealer is a great light weight concealer, is light coverage and very moisturizing. It dose not crease in fine lines and its best for dark circles because it has light reflecting properties that lessens the appearance of dark circles, but the coverage is not high enough to cover spots, scares or dark blemishes. Its long lasting, downside is the applicator is not very hygienic and the clicking device is not easy to control amount extracted.
Maybelline Mineral power concealer is a yellow toned concealer great for covering spots and blemishes. It has high coverage, blends like a dream and lasts all day when set. Down the down-side it dose sink into fine lines and is not great for dark circles if you have pink undertones.
The last the Maybelline's Dream mousse concealer, I think i have done a review on it. It creases, leaves patches after a few hours. I think this was a miss for me.
For the mean time, Stay beautiful!

Recent finds: Eyeshadow Edition

Eyeshadows, who can ever get enough of them. We always want to find different colors in different shades, tones, and effects.

My most recent finds are:
And out of this bunch, I only found one that is not so great.

Lets get started with the Rimmel mono eyeshadows. I have reviewed Tribute last time, and I have to say the two most recent ones (VIP & Live show) are great too.
(VIP, Live show, Tribute)
VIP is a Beige shimmery shadow there is great for inner half of the eye. Its has good pigmentation, it dose not crease or smudge. Only downside is, it has a bit of fall out when a shadow brush is dipped into it.
Compared to the Lo'real infailible in hourglass beige, VIP is darker and it has more fall out.
(Hourglass Beige, VIP)
The packaging of the Rimmel shadows are not very durable and I feel that if I were to drop one, it would break.
Live show is a metallic green when swatched but on the eye is a flattering green. The pigmentation is great, once again there is a bit of fall out. Over all its a great colour for the outer corners.
The three Rimmel shadows are very good quality, bendable, can be used wet or dry and pretty long lasting. Saying that i probably wont buy them again A. because they are discontinued. B. I believe there are other eye shadows in the market to experiment.

I just opened by Nude by nature mineral shadow in No.2 contour. The color reminds of my Chocolate, a straight brown. Its really bendable and it creates a great base for darker smoky colors. The down-side is shaking your product out of 3 lil holes can be hard to control at times.
(No.2 Contour)

The Max factor Masterpiece colour precision eyeshadow are my favorite, they are so good that I'm getting 5 of the 6 shades. I currently have Coffee and star dust.

These shadows are a lazy girls dream. They look great on the eye (even individually), super easy to blend and they don't crease through out the day. The colours are very true and they can definitely be layered. What more can you ask for? Its going to be my fav shadow for a while!
(Stardust & Coffee)
The last one is the Lor'eal Infailible shadow in Eternal black. This shadows was a definite miss for me because its not very pigmented and the glitter specs fall off as soon as you apply it. It hardly have any lasting power. I use it now as a setting powder.

Sorry

Sorry guys for the lack of upload, I'm been super busy because I'm trying to start up on youtube. Vid editing and uni work has really drained me. Here is my youtube channel Xiaoqing88 pay a visit and let me know what you thing ^^

But I'm here today to tell you some of my recent finds.

First is the Lo'real infailible eyeshadow in "Hourglass beige".

This is a shimmery biege eyeshadow with great colour pay off. Its great for inner corner, brow bone highlights or a base colour. The staying power is great with a eye primer (more then 8hrs). And there is no creasing or smudging with primer too. Overall great product to have in you collection.

Now i have tried the colour Eternal black. This shadow is not so great because the glitters in the shadow fall immediately and the black shadow is not so pigmented.

I have yet to try the other colours, but my hands are iching to get the navy and pink one.

Second is the Mac factor earth spirits eyeshadow in "Burnt bark".

When i tested the product in store Burnt Bark is the only one that really stood out. Its colour is very pigmented and shimmer is too good to pass. I would wear this as a crease colour along with the Hourglass Beige as base. This once again has great staying power with a primer and it don't crease or smudge.

Third Item is Rimmel single shadows in "Tribute".

I think this range of shadows are discontinued because they are all going on sale now and I don't see priceline stocking them anymore. Now i believe its sold at below $10 each, i got mine for 8.95 at discount chemist.

This shadow is a shimmering deep purple eyeshadow and its great for crease colour too. It gives great pigmentation and its really long lasting.

Fourth product is the Eco-tools Alicia Silverstone brush set

Its a great brush set that comes with a blush brush, stippling brush, angled eyeshadow brush, a brow/lash brush and a casing.

I've used the angled shadow brush and blush brush and its really great. I think all eco-tools brushes are awesome for its price because it has the most gentle brushes, it picks up the product, no shedding when wash and most of all its eco friendly and cruelty free. So big love!

Last product is Rimmer Colour show off lip stick in "Tell no one"
This lipstick colour is really unique because it looks pink in the tube, but when applied on it gives a bright watermelon colour. Its a really eye catching colour and its long wearing when blotted down with a tissue.
