Search for the Glowy summer look

For a whole week i have been looking for the perfect cheek color for a summer glowy look. And i have to say my effort and hard earned money did not go to waste.

My first purchases were these two: Revlon blush in "blushed" and Bourjois blush in "35 Lune D'or".

Revlon "blushed"
Pigmentation: 1/5
Packaging: 4/5
Staying power: 3/5
Buy again: NO
Over all this is a fail blush because there is hardly any color pay off and it looses its color by mid day. Not worth your buck.

Bourjois "35 Lune D'or":
Pigmentation: 4/5
Packaging: 3/5
Staying power 4/5
Buy again: No
This blush is fun to play with but i think there is alot more in the market that does the same at a lower value.

Second set is Maybelline blushes in Dusty Rose and Sun Light. There are a great disappointment, there is NO color pay off, crap Packaging and no staying power because there is no color to start off with. Would not recommend to purchase. I only bought it cause there is no tester and i was curious (another lesson learn, No tester=bad product).

The last set i got is the perfect thing i needed and that is Prestige "Pure shimmer" materialized powder and Mac MSF in Soft and Gentle.
Prestige "Pure Shimmer":
Pigmentation: 5/5
Packaging: 4/5
Staying power: 5/5
Buy Again: Yes

MAC "Soft and Gentle":
Pigmentation: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5
Staying power: 5/5
Buy Again: Yes

Overall both gives great pigmentation only difference is Prestige is a little golden/bright compared to the more pink MAC. Both are great.

The last two is what i have purchased last week.
Rimmel Stay Matte in Peach glow:
Its not as good as the MAC blot powder and the only upside is it smells nice. The packaging is crap and there is no color.
Pigmentation(purpose): 2/5
Packaging:1/5
Staying power: 2/5
Buy Again: No

Loreal Blush in "120 Sandalwood pink":
Pigmentation: 5/5
Packaging:2/5
Staying power: 4/5
Buy Again: Yes
This blush is so pigmented that the tiniest amount can cover the whole cheek. Its very prone to over blushing (where you face looks like a monkey's bum). But this is a great blush for its money and i recommend this blush out of all the blushes i have mentioned in this entry (except for the MAC and Prestige).

And this is a swatch of the products according to the previous photo's order. I didnt include the Maybelline ones because they are horrible.

Physicians Formula eyeshadow trio in "baked Oatmeal"

This trio was purchased a few days ago due to its great pigmentation, here are the swatches:

Today i have done a look with this pallet. In my opinion this pallet is for everyday, work, school, shopping, natural day time look.

This is the eye look:
The middle rice-paper colour was used all over the lid, the left dust pink colour is applied on the outer V area and crease, and the right Brown liner is applied lightly on the lash line.
Products used are listed below:

  1. physicians formula eyeshadow in "baked oatmeal"
  2. Mac blush in "welldressed"
  3. Estee Lauder lipstick in "Crystal pink"
  4. Mac blot powder in "Medium dark"
  5. Mac mineralized skin finished nature in "light medium"
  6. Elizabeth Arden Lash Extending treatment Mascara
  7. QVS lash curler
  8. IQQU travel eyeshadow brush
  9. Nude by nature power brush
  10. Prestige Mineral face brush
Personal Opinion:
This pallet is a great everyday trio that is suitable for work, school or fun day out. It can even be worn on to a first date.
The shadows are very pigmented, however when used with water it can create a more dramatic and long lasting look.
All three shadows are shimmer in nature and the pigments are very finely milled.

On the downside the lil eyeshadow applicator it came with it totally useless because it way too rough for the eyes (I used it and nearly made me tear up).
The packaging is also not travel friendly because the casing is a bit spacious and the domed shaped shadows are prone to breakage.

Over all this shadow is a great product, I will give it 9/10.

Work and life

I have been AFK for a while because I'm currently engaging in full time work. really sorry for the lack of blogging.

I picked up this Prestige Minerals foundation brush a few days ago, purely out of curiosity.
The brush quality is great there is no shedding in its wash and use and i love the thick handle for greater control.

I haven't been using this brush for foundation, instead i think its a very good sized blush brush. Its really dense so it picks up a fair amount of product and its size is great for blushing and contouring.

For its quality i would say 27.95 was worth it, but knowing i shop around i have found a better blush brush from morning glory its around 7 dollars and the brush quality is good too (but not as dense). Shown below.
