Summer necessities

I'm doing this blog to make up for the fact that i have been really lazy with blogging. *i'm sooo sorry*
First product is Clean & Clear oil control film. Remember last i blogged about them, i said i got 12 packs. Its the best purchase i made in ages. I used up one pack already, and is not even summer yet. I will use this 2-3 times a day, depending on the humidity and temperature. The results are always great. I have really oily skin (esp my nose), I will use 1 film per blot and it will take all the oil away. Great for carrying around in your purse on a summer's day.

I received the MAC materialized skin finish natural, in light medium. It matches my skin tone really well, and it always gives me a glow. In flash photography however, i do look abit white but not ghostly. I love how it gives a natural glow and its sheer coverage. I would use this year round.

Mac Blot power in medium dark. Its abit dark for my liking but its really sheer so it hardly makes a difference. I only use this on my T zone to control shine however, it only controls my oil for about 1-2 hours on a really hot day. So blotting sheets are always handy. I will use this in warm or humid whether.

Maybelline Define-a-lash in the new packaging. I like this mascara, but it will be abit running esp in hot weather. It makes my lashes visibly longer but not clumpy. In winter when the weather is not too humid this will stand great, but in a humid or hot day it will smudge a tiny bit after 4hrs.

MAC blush in well dressed. I would say this is a must have blush for anyone and everyone. This could be used as a base for blush because it has highlighting effects or it could be worn alone and give a light flush of pink.
MAC blush in Hipness (limited edition). I purchased mine from ebay, and fell in love when i first swatch it. Its the perfect summer blush for a healthy flush of coral and pink. Many people compare this to Benefit Coralista , but i think they are very different. Coralist is too shimmery and glittery. After swatching it, it just look like there is glitter on my hand. Hipness on the other hand it a true coral with a pearl finish, not soo shimmery.

On a side note, our aloe vera have started to flower. YAY!!!

Picture of YY and the easy way fake looking cakes.

And Hilary got me this mirror, she said the lil girl on the charm reminded her of me. What do you think?

garlic for painful pimple?

Recently i have given up one of my trusted pimple creams because it has anti-bio tics.
As a result i need to venture out to find a new thing to get rid of my painful/untouchable pimples.

Well i just had one recently, and last night i tried garlic on it.
What i did was peeled a clove of garlic and sliced in half. And only apply the little it amount onto the pimple (only on the pimple).

In the next hour there was a burning sensation in around the area and it was red about 5cm diameter wide. Today morning the area where i applied the garlic is really dry almost feels like a rash. The upside is there is hardly any redness.
The pimples feels dried out by today morning but the area is really dry, almost unhealthy dry. I have really oily skin so its not often that i find a product that dry out my skin.

I wound NOT recommend this trick to ANYONE. Simply for the fact that its soo drying and the after effect. This is definitely not for sensitive skin, or even normal skin. However if there is anyone out there who is willing to try, i would recommend run the garlic down with some warm water to reduce the concentration. And following it up with a really good moisturizer. Also ONLY APPLY IT ON THE PIMPLE (NOT THE AREA AROUND IT).

Recent finds

Some of my recent finds are in this picture.

I got a really awesome face powder brush (the really fluffy one in the pic on the right). Its a brush that's from the Nude by nature cosmetics line. Its 14.95 and can be found in priceline, target/kmart. Its really soft and really easy to clean. It applys powder foundation or setting powder effortlessly. And for the price its really worth a try, its one of the best brushes i have tried (planning to get a second).

Visine advanced eye drops with 3 lubricants. i usually suffer from dry irritated eyes due to mascara however, this eye drop keeps my eyes moisturized and fresh for the whole day even with mascara. I tried it on J today who usually have red and ichy eyes, almost instantaneously his eye looked more brighter and he is rubbing his eyes less.

As for the silk cosmetics case/bag, its a Glameyes eyebrow set. I bought it at a Shopsmart Wholesale Pharmacy for 4.99 (bargain!!!). It came with 3 eyebrow stencils, eyebrow powder, brow gel, brow brush and the case. I love it cause it has many compartments for your brushes and compacts and its a great travel set. And i think the price is a steal.
As for my new camera case, the purchasing experience was very unpleasant. The only upside is the price around 6~7 dollars. I purchased it from ebay from a seller called i.picture, the delivery took 4 weeks, the item said the product is from Aust but its really from HK, no communication from the seller and it doesn't fit the camera it advertised for properly.

If you have any questions regarding the items in the pictures please leave a comment and i will reply to the best of my ability ^^

Presents

Here is the pressies I received for my Bday as promised. My sis made me a bottle of stars and got me a pink tofu, super KAWAII. Stella and Johnson got my a Mor Body butter, MAC MSF natural in light medium and a Chi Chi eye shadow ~~~ LOVE.

Our Aloe has grown even taller. But i think its far from flowering cause i found some pics on google, the flowers are huge and the stems are heaps long. So i guess now is the waiting game. Here is a pic i found from Google:

And remember one day of last week it was really humid and wet. Well guess how YY spent it... in beg. She knows how to enjoy life. She loves to sun bake, sleep on our pillows (hog them) and look down from our balcony or 2nd bedroom. If i was a dog, i want to be her (given that i'm (dog) is owned by me, which is impossible).

Lash Curler

Bought 2 new lash curlers recently to find my perfect curler, only to find the one i had was the best.

Revlon Lash Curler (left): It didnt work for me because my eyes are not very bulged out to received the full benefit of this curler.

QVS lash curler (middle): I'm not sure if this curler is available any more because i purchased it years ago. This works the best because it has the best curvature for my eyes, and it hardly every pulls out my lashes or clip my eye lid.

Shu Uemura lash curler (right): This lash curler goes to show that even expensive hyped products may not be the best. This is a good curler, but i really dont like the mechanism it works on, that lil angle pully always pushes on my cheeks when ever i try to curl my lashes. And it some times clips my eye lids.

This summary proves that lash curlers is really a personal thing. No matter how hyped the curler is ravved about, it might not work for you. So always experiment, and shop with a open mind.

On to a side note, i think our new aloe vera is going to flower. ohhhh soo excited!

Outfits

Outfits of the last few days, taken by my iphone 4 in my apartment lift.

I watched Michelle Phan's Blog TV today. Made me realize, although she is successful but she is still very down to earth. She said she has achieved her dream, and if she lost everything the next day she will not be upset cause she reached her goal in life.
Made me think, what is my dream, what do i want out of life? There are those who are soo fortunate to know what they want out of life. But mine is still a huge blur, for a girl: I have not dream about my wedding because there is a part of me which believes weddings are only for show (the only thing that last is happiness between two people, in which wedding or no wedding will not alter). All I'm interested in at this very moment is skin care, make up, pets, fashion, bargains and other lil things. I know i might sound like a pessimist, but one side of me thinks what does my future holds for me. The other tells me, i make my own future which is what I've done all along.
I was always dominate over what i want, in my younger life it was about boys. I always got the boyfriend i wanted by being pro-active. And i will try all means to get that guy. I might sound like a player of some sort, but i dont regret one bit. I'm not proud, but that's who I am. Even now if i really wanted something, i will find means to get it.

But we are back at the question, what do I want in the future??? Guess i have to live it to find out.

On a lighter note, check out Michelle Phan's new video:

Nevaeh Mesh Tutu - Forcast

Got this skirt today from Forcast. When i first saw it i thought of Carrie from Sex and the City. I just watched the second movie *yes i know i'm slow*, in my opinion the second is better then the first cause there is more fashion!!!

There is some pics of the skirt with some possible combination.

And i got the cheapest thing possible from MAC. Got this pallet cause i think i will get refills from online and making my own pallets, instead of buying them of the counter.
